Goodbye life of leisure.

So, my life of leisure as a part-time unemployed graduate student is over. That's right folks, I have joined the full-time work force once again (while remaining a part-time graduate student.) I am working in a little vacuum shop helping out with office duties and scheduling appointments with customers, but I prefer to think of it as much more than that.

I imagine myself to like the guy from the film "Once." <--Wonderful Irish film, if you haven't seen it - please go watch it now it is a beautiful film. The "guy" from the film (the main character of the film was never actually given a name - in the credits he is referred to as "guy") works in his father's vacuum shop - but has dreams of becoming a successful musician. I like to think I am getting paid not for my office work and scheduling appointments, but rather for the dreams that play out in my head while working and the doodles I scratch on paper. Let's face it I bring so much more to that little vacuum shop than the menial tasks I perform - and so why not think of myself in a grander way. I am just a beautiful kind hearted artistic soul they hired "to perform menial tasks" and brighten up the place with my lovely doodles and dreams. Lol.

Sidenote: Here is a completely unrelated vlog for your viewing pleasure. In which the small town girl (from a very non-diverse place) finds pleasure in the little things in the big diverse city.
